Imperfect vs Preterite

This video is designed to help you understand when to use the Imperfect (setting the scene, recounting an event or things that used to happen) and when to use the Preterite (single events in the past, what happened next).

For GCSE level, the key is to remember that the Imperfect sets the scene and the Preterite tells you what happened next.

Watch the video and make a list all the verbs in the imperfect and in the preterite.

Watch it again and write down as many sentences as you can remember.
